Job description:
As RSI’s Fundraising Officer, you will support our work by collaborating with our team in researching new funding opportunities, drafting grant applications and fulfilling RSI’s grant reporting obligations. You will also be instrumental in developing and growing RSI’s new individual giving scheme, as well as helping to increase our network of supporters in the UK and internationally. Your role will be vital to the smooth operation and expansion of RSI’s work, and you will be a highly valued and respected team member.

This position reports to the Executive Director.
Major tasks include:
- Researching funding opportunities and preparing applications, including narratives and budgets;
- In coordination with programme staff, developing proposals for new projects;
- Keeping track of reporting requirements and drafting interim and final reports to funders;
- Planning up to three small fundraising events per year for potential individual donors and to help raise awareness of RSI;
- Growing RSI’s individual giving scheme;
- Increasing RSI’s network of supporters in the UK and internationally, including by developing our mailing list; and
- Preparing background information and other materials for donor meetings.
Person Specification:
You must have a right to work in the United Kingdom and plan to be based here.
RSI is looking for an experienced fundraising professional who has:
- At least 3 years of experience in fundraising or marketing in the charity sector, with a track record of success.
- Exceptionally strong writing skills, with particular experience in drafting applications and reports for charitable foundations and/or institutional donors.
- Strong time management skills, including a demonstrated ability to balance multiple deadlines.
- Strong communication skills – both written and oral – with a range of actors.
- Experience in drafting project budgets.
- A commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.
- You must speak and write English fluently.
