RWUK fears impact of secret courts, as the justice and security act comes into force

We note with regret that the Justice and Security Act comes into force today. Across the world and here in Northern Ireland we have seen the harm that is done when courts lack openness and transparency. Rights Watch (UK) joins the countless NGOs and legal experts who have raised serious concerns about whether the Act violates international human rights standards. It will be a priority for us to closely monitor how the Act is implemented and we urge other NGOs to do the same.
