RSI Submission to the Human Rights Committee
5th February 2024
The UK is being reviewed by the Human Rights Committee on its compliance with the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) in March. We’ve submitted written evidence on the current country situation as it relates to the UK’s obligations under the ICCPR on the following issues:
- Citizenship deprivation;
- Barriers to British citizenship;
- Repatriation of British (and former) British nationals in northeast Syria;
- Harms of the ‘Prevent’ strategy;
- Northern Ireland legacy bill and lack of effective investigations into human rights abuses committed during the conflict in NI.
