Advice Service
Rights & Security International (RSI) provides free Level 1 immigration advice, regulated under the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA). We provide advice to the most vulnerable migrants in and around Belfast, including those who may be dealing with insecure migration status, people who are facing homelessness and those with no access to public funds.
Our goal is to ensure that everyone – regardless of their background or circumstance – has access to clear, supportive and trustworthy immigration advice.

11am – 5pm
You may be able to access this service if you have been referred to us from another organisation.
Our advice service is by appointment only and face-to-face, though after a first meeting we may contact you by phone or email. Once we have confirmed that we can consider your case, we will send you an online form to choose an appointment time.
Please note that we currently operate this service only for cases we can address through basic advice. If we are not able to take on your case due to its complex nature, we will try to refer you to a different service.
We are not able to help with cases that involve the following:
- Where Leave to Remain has run out/elapsed for more than 14 days
- Where individuals have a recent or serious criminal history
- Where individuals already have a solicitor advising them on immigration issues
- Family reunion applications
- Detention and applications for bail
- Appeals, tribunals and court work, including Judicial Review Case Management
- Applications for children
- Any other complex cases
We also cannot help with visitor or tourism visas.
Languages and interpretation
We can provide our services in English and Bengali. Although we cannot guarantee the use of an interpreter, please let us know if you need one and for which language.
