Policy and Advocacy Officer
Islam is a Policy and Advocacy Officer at Rights and Security International. During 2020, he was the first Oak Fellow within the Legal and Policy Department. Islam helped to conceptualise and materialise this fellowship, which seeks to attract young people from marginalised communities towards human rights, by exposing them to the work of Rights and Security International.
Islam holds a Graduate Diploma in Law from BPP University, a Postgraduate Masters in Human Rights from University College London and a BSc in Politics, Philosophy, Economics and Warwick University. He has previously interned with Freedom from Torture, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, and participated in a fellowship with the Oak Foundation’s International Human Rights Programme.
