Senior Officer, Migration & Citizenship
Emily is Senior Officer in Migration & Citizenship at Rights & Security International (RSI).
She was previously Legal & Policy Officer at RSI (September 2020-November 2021). During this time, she worked on RSI's parliamentary advocacy in response to the Overseas Operations Bill, researched and authored a human rights-based report on the situation of children and women living in dire humanitarian conditions in camps in northeast Syria, advocated at UK and EU parliamentary levels against European States' refusals to repatriate many of their (former) nationals held in the camps, and authored a third-party intervention in a related case before the European Court of Human Rights.
Prior to joining RSI, Emily worked as a legal intern at Women’s Link Worldwide in Bogotá, Colombia, an NGO that uses strategic litigation to advance the rights of women and girls worldwide. During this time, Emily worked on cases concerned with the peace process in Colombia, the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela, and reproductive rights in Kenya.
Emily holds a BCL (2019-20) and a BA in Law with Spanish Law (2014-18), both from the University of Oxford. During the BCL she specialised in human rights and public international law. She is fluent in Spanish.
